Morris, a Huitt-Zollars company, provided design services for the renovation of a 10,841 SF portion of the Campus Library and a new 14,060 SF addition for the Media Center, Information Technology, and supporting services. 

 

Design considerations incorporated function and adjacencies, departmental identities, entries and circulation, operating hours, data center expansion, daylight and views, open space, sustainability, phasing, and schedule effects.

Sustainable strategies were incorporated into the design to achieve a USGBC LEED Gold Certification. Photovoltaic panels provide renewable energy; sun shading panels, high performance glazing, and natural ventilation were incorporated. The roof collects rainwater and directs it to an on-site retention basin.
